Nurses in Touch has developed a division of physical therapy that focuses specifically on orthopedic care. Our physical therapists follow the care guidelines of internationally recognized leaders and specialists in joint replacement, osteoarthritis, and amputation.
As part of Nurses in Touch physical therapy, we look at the big picture. We get an in-depth understanding of a patient’s work life, hobbies, interests, and overall life goals. We work closely with patients, families, and doctors to create a plan that moves in the direction of comfort and freedom.
- Joint Replacement – After surgery, our physical therapists assist patients with special stretches and exercises. They help patients regain motion and increase their comfort while working at a pace that is appropriate for them.
- Osteoarthritis – We focus on three things: pain management, mobility improvement, and muscle strengthening. In addition to creating a strength training routine, we’ll also determine if the patient would benefit from devices that can assist with motion, such as special braces or footwear.
- Amputation – Our therapists develop a relationship with the patient and family, setting the best environment for rehabilitation after a limb amputation. We have connections with local prosthetists, and we’ll work with closely with them to help fit and train patients with the latest technology.
